What Can I Expect On My First Visit?
Once you pull into the parking lot of Berean Baptist Church you will be immediately welcomed by a door greeter who will hand you a bulletin with information of the day's services. If you arrive for Sunday School you will be directed to your age appropriate class. Sunday School is a more relaxed time where we want to create an environment conducive for learning. This is a time where we want you to feel free to converse and ask questions, although this is not required. Many times breakfast and coffee is provided during the Sunday School hour.
The Sunday Morning Worship Service is next on the schedule. This service has the largest attendance of all of our services at Berean Baptist. We begin the morning worship by singing a hymn or spiritual song. This is followed by an introduction by Pastor Pugh in which he thanks the visitors for coming and encourages each visitor to fill out a visitor’s card. After the announcements we sing another song and then we have a time to greet one another. Afterwards we sing a few more congregational songs and take up an offering. Just before the message we are privileged to hear special music whether it be a soloist, a duet, a quartet, or a choir. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, relevant, and challenging message from Pastor Jason Pugh.
The Sunday Evening Service is much like the Sunday Morning Service, however, on Sunday evening we are privileged to really get into the meat of the Word of God. Pastor Pugh preaches through a book of the Bible each Sunday evening. Since the church began we have studied through the books of Proverbs, Romans, Daniel, Galatians, and Acts verse by verse. If you have a desire to learn what the Bible says then you don’t want to miss out on the Sunday evening services.
Wednesday night is a time to come together for prayer and Bible study. We have a time where we open the floor for prayer requests and then pray together as a church family. Our time of prayer is followed by an in-depth Bible study. We normally study a subject of the Bible. We have studied subjects on Wednesday night such as the subject of Heaven, Doctrine of the Church, Controversial Subjects of the Bible, etc.
Where Do I Take My Children?
We have safe, clean, well-managed facilities available for your children. We have a nursery for those 23 months and younger, a toddlers class for the 2-4 year olds, and a juniors class for the 5-11 year olds. The church provides great age appropriate Sunday school material to help each child learn on his/her level. We also have junior churches available for the children during the worship hour.
How Should I Dress?
There is not a dress code at Berean Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Berean Baptist!
Am I Expected To Participate in the Offering?
